Rebel Wilson recently shared a personal story about losing her virginity at the age of 35, encouraging her fans not to feel ‘pressured’ to do it at a younger age.The actress spoke candidly about her experience in an interview with People magazine and in her memoir, Rebel Rising.
Wilson was open about the fact that she didn’t have sex for the first time until her 30s, revealing her story in hopes of helping others feel more comfortable with their own choices.
Wilson’s words aim to remind everyone that there’s no rush and that everyone’s journey to intimacy can happen on their own terms.She said, “Not everybody has to lose their virginity as a teenager. People can wait till they’re ready or wait till they’re a bit more mature.”
Rebel Wilson emphasized that there is no right age to lose your virginity and that waiting for the right moment can be a positive thing.
“You obviously don’t have to wait until you’re in your thirties like me, but you shouldn’t feel pressure as a young person,” she added.The 44-year-old actress admitted that for a long time, she avoided talking about sex because she felt uncomfortable revealing that she was still a virgin.
She recalled, “There was one vague time, I think I told my best friend, ‘Oh, yeah, I just did it to just get it over with when I was like 23,’ just to really avoid the questions.

“Normally I would just leave the room when the conversation was happening.”
Wilson went on to explain how she felt isolated when hearing others discuss their experiences.She said, “And then the people that said ‘oh, at 24, it’s so late,’ and then I’m sitting here thinking, ‘Oh my God, my number’s 35. What the hell? I’m going to look like the biggest loser.'”
In her memoir, Rebel Rising, Wilson revealed that actor and comedian Mickey Gooch Jr. was her first sexual partner.
She shared that she was ‘almost at my highest weight’ when she lost her virginity and that Gooch did not know it was her first time.Wilson wrote, “And, Micks, I know this might be news to you if you are reading this, but yes I lost my virginity to you.”
Wilson explained that after a month of dating Gooch, she felt ready to take that step.

She reflected, “Life IS short. I didn’t want to live my life without experiencing sex. Experiencing love. I put it out into the universe that I was finally ready. I was going to feel the fear and just do it.”After taking that step, Wilson celebrated in her own way.
She admitted that she ‘high-fived’ herself afterward and even watched adult movies the night before to prepare for the experience.
